Input Change Banners

Input Change Banners

Overview

When building a deal in K-SIM, the user can run individual components of the structure and view the results for:
  1. K-PAT
  2. Run Scenarios
  3. Test Matrix

K-SIM will not run these pages automatically and requires the user to manually run the function.  When a user modifies the inputs to one of these components, K-SIM provides a notification banner that the results are no longer valid.

Viewing and Clearing Banners

If an input is modified that only impacts a single results screen, the user must re-run that component to clear the banner and see updated results.

  1. K-PAT banner:  Run K-PAT
  2. Scenario Inputs banner:  Run Scenarios
  3. Test Matrix banner: Run Test Matrix

To clear this notification, the user must re-run the component:

There are cases where changing an input can cause multiple banners to appear, for example.

  1. Changing a deal date -> K-PAT, Run Scenarios, and Test Matrix
  2. Uploading a new file -> K-PAT, Run Scenarios, and Test Matrix

You will then see two banners on the top of the results page, as the example below illustrates:

To clear both banners, the user should first re-run K-PAT to view the updated K-WARF, Default and Recovery results. Then, the user should Run Scenarios so that the cashflow engine can use the new K-PAT results.

There are some cases where a user may make multiple changes such as a deal date (considered as K-PAT & Scenario Input changes) and a tranche balance (Scenario Input change).  If desired, the user can run the scenarios without re-running K-PAT.  This would run the cashflow engine using the outdated K-PAT results and the new tranche balance.  The Cashflow Results screens will continue to display the K-PAT banner until K-PAT is re-run, necessitating a subsequent scenario run to clear all the banners.
